At the Greater Life Academy, we train believers who wish to serve in ministry as a carer and welfare person. Some are seeking to work in the caring sector/ministry in paid and unpaid positions. This course is ideal for people who love to care for disabled people, wheelchair bound people, elderly people, cancer patients, hopice bound people, or those with health or mobility challenges. It is a course for those seeking to be Christlike and willing to give their love, compassion and cering to others.
This course is ideal and beneficial for Health Care Assistants, Assistant Practitioners, Care Support Workers, Adult Social Workers, those giving support to clinical roles in hospitals where there is any direct contact with patients, Adult Social Care workers giving direct care in residential, nursing homes and hospices, home care workers, and domiciliary care staff personnel. Step 1 - RegistrationFirst, sign up for the course. Pay your course administration fee of £100/€112/$123 USD. Then complete our introduction to caring & welfare module, that readies you for the theory classes. Step 2 - Complete introduction Course
Complete the 'care & Welfare' introductory course and submit your completed assigments for grading. Step 3 - The Theory Modules
Next, sign up for the full theory 15 modules.

The Care Certificate theory courses (offered through collegiate partners) have been assessed and awarded a CPD accreditation by the CPD standards office. Completion certificate is awarded upon completion. - Registration link will be provided. Theory Course content:

2. Becoming a care assistant (2-3 Hours)
3. Health & Safety In Care giving (2-3 Hours)
4. Becoming a domiciliary support worker (2-3 Hours)
5. Dementia Care & management (2-3 Hours)
6. Elderly Care & caring for the disabled (2-3 Hours)
7. Basic Life support (4-5 Hours)
8. Understanding medication For care givers (2-3 Hours)
9. Care Certificate Standard (2-3 Hours)
10. Care Certificate Standard (2-3 Hours)
11. CPR, AED & First Aid (2-3 Hours)
12. Mental Heal Studies (2-3 Hours)
13. Care giving skills Care (2-3 Hours)
14. Safeguarding vulnerable adults (2-3 Hours)
15. Childcare - Health & Safety (2-3 Hours)
Total Hours: 30-45. Step 4 - Practical Training cComponent:
Armed with the certificate from steps 2 & 3, the student is now ready for their practical training segment.
Student will need to pay the placement internship administration fee of:
£250/ €290/$330 USD at this stage.
Students who are already legally in the United Kingdom, may come to Scotland for their practical internships if they wish or they may undertake it at local establishments anywhere in the United Kingdom.
International students shall undertake their internships at any approved local establishment within their own country. GLA must approve all self-sourced local internship establishment & placements.
Total Time Required: 90 hours minimum.
NOTE: Interships are unpaid, however some employers may elect to pay you for your time and commitment. Upon satisfactory completion of the pratical internship, the academy will issue a certificate of completion to the student. Students may arrange their own practical internships or it can be arranged for the student, as volunteers in their locality with a nursing home, charity or hospital or at similar establishments. Practical Course Duration
90 Hours Minimum spread over 6-8 weeks at an approved establishment that is acceptable to
the admissions board of the academy.
Students must be age 18 years and over.
Must be literate and have a sound understanding/command of the English language for ease of tutorial as well as practical support.
Student must have the financial ability to self-fund the theory and practical internship parts of this corse and to meet all the expenses relating to this course. Our scholarship only covers tuition and course materials only.
