Diploma In Hospitality & Tourism Course

At the Greater Life Academy, we train believers who wish to serve in ministry as a hospitality host/servant. Some people are seeking to work in the hospitality & tourism sector/ministry in paid and unpaid positions. This course is ideal for people who love to care for people/guests on holiday, in hotels, bed & breakfast facilities, tourism & travel sector, cafe & restaurants, eateries and in other leisure ministry areas. It is a course for those seeking to be Christlike and willing to give their love, time, compassion and caring to others and to see other people blessed.

This course is ideal and beneficial for those ready to work or are already working in hotels, housekeeping, travels, tourism industry, Cafes, resturants, food, and other areas of the leisure industry. This course will redefine your understanding of hospitality and shed new light on what it is to serve in hospitality with a Christlike focus and a godly mindset.

Step 1 - Registration
First, sign up for the course. Pay your course administration fee of £100/€112/$123 USD. Then complete our introduction to caring & welfare module, that prepares you for the theory classes.

Step 2 - Complete introduction Course
Complete the 'Care & Welfare' introduction course and submit your completed assigments for grading.

Step 3 - The Theory Modules
Next, sign up for the full theory 10 modules.
Enrolment admin fee cost is: £10/€115/$122 USD.
The Hospitality Certificate theory Courses segment (delivered through collegiate partners) have been assessed and awarded a CPD accreditation by the CPD standards office. Certificate is awarded upon completion. - Registration link will be provided.

Hospitality Theory Course content:
1. Introduction to Hospitality Management studies (2-3 Hours)
2. Food & Beverage Service in Restaurant, Bars & Banquets (2-3 Hours)
3. Concierge: Roles, Work Environment & Etiquettes (2-3 Hours)
4. Understanding Travel & Tourism (2-3 Hrs)
5. Hospitality Management Studies-Health & Safety In Food Service (2-3 Hours)
6. Hospitality Management Studies-Food & Beverage (2-3 Hours)
7. Hospitality Management Studies-Hotel Operations (2-3 Hours)
8. Finance & Cash Management in Hospitality (2-3 Hours)
9. Soft Skills For Hospitality Professionals (2-3 Hours)
10. Food & Beverage Restaurant services/Waiter's Training (2-3 hrs)
Total Theory Hours: 20-30.

Step 4 - Practical Training cComponent:

Armed with the certificate from your step 2 & 3, the student is now ready for their practical training segment. Student will need to pay their internship placement administration fee of:
£250/ €290/$330 USD at this stage.

Practical Internship Placements:
Students who are already legally in the United Kingdom, may come to Scotland for their practical internships if they wish or they may undertake it at local establishments in the United Kingdom.
International Students In ternship
International students shall undertake their internships at any approved local establishment within their own country. GLA must approve all self-sourced local internship establishment & placements.
Total Time Required: 90 hours minimum.
NOTE:Interships are unpaid, however some employers may elect to pay you for your time and commitment.

Upon satisfactory completion of the pratical internship, the academy will issue a certificate of diploma to the student. Practical internships can be arranged for the student at appropriate establishments. The academy will work with the student to achieve the best internship experience possible.

Practical Course Assessment Areas
Students will need to spend a minmum of 15 working hours at each estblaishment in the following sectors:
1. Hotel/Bed & Breakfast operation
2. Concierge & housekeeping services
3. Cafe/Take away establishment
4. Tour company/conferences/Events/Festival
5. Fine dinning restuarant
6. Travel agency/Airline/Tourism/Airport operations
An internship final report filed & submitted.

Course Fee Structure
Tuiton: FREE for all courses
Registration Admin fee: £100/€115/$122 USD
Internship Arrangement Fee: £250/ €290/$330 USD
Diploma Course Certificate fee: £35
Books: Student will pay for their own books.
Training Material: Provided for free.
NOTE:All administration fees payable at the start of each phase.

Practical Internship Format

Minimum 90 Hours spread over 4-8 weeks at an approved establishment that is acceptable to the admissions board of the academy.

General Requirement:

Students must be age 18 years and over.
Must be literate and have a sound understanding/command of the English language for ease of tutorial as well as practical support.

This course is only available in English language with tutorial support.
Student must have the financial ability to self- fund the theory and practical internship parts of this course and to meet all the expenses relating to this course.

Our scholarship only covers tuition and course materials.
Standard administration fee applies.
